Mission & Goals
Dr. Michael W. Hartman is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Fellowship-Trained in Sports Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee disorders. His interests include arthroscopic surgery, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability repair, knee ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and cartilage replacement. In addition, he performs knee and shoulder replacements including minimially invasive partial “unicompartmental” knee replacements, shoulder resurfacing procedures, and “reverse” total shoulder replacements. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the LSU Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in New Orleans. He is dedicated to patient satisfaction and meeting the individual needs of every patient. Many musculoskeletal conditions can be treated by non-surgical techniques–surgery is just one treatment option. Dr. Hartman combines leading edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide patients with the best orthopaedic care possible for any musculoskeletal problem or injury. Providing patient education and involving the patient in the treatment plan are critical to expectations and outcomes.
